Love this bike, August 3, 2009 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Nirve Starliner Women's Hybrid Cruiser Bike (Sports) I have not been on a bike for over thirty years and was looking for something comfortable, easy to ride and I could lift (for storage, bike rack, etc). This is one of Nirve's lighter bikes, but is by no means flimsy. Extemely comfortable and easy to ride, I had it out and rode for a half hour with out feeling like I was going to kill myself. This bike will last the rest of my life, but I am so impressed with it I will probably get another. The quality and workmanship (they are handmade) is very good, and pricing is extremely reasonable considering it is handmade. My brother, who has a Cannondale Mountain, was so impressed with it, is planning on buying one (and he is a distance rider). Even looking at in in a color I didn't care for, the bike still appealed to me,and I have looked at and sat on many bikes in my search before deciding on this one.

It is so comfortable and easy to ride. I like the look of traditional beach cruisers, but found them to be too heavy and slow. I'm not looking to race or anything, but I do want to keep up with the rest of my family when we go for our evening bike rides. This one is perfect: it has the pretty flowers and designs you see on beach cruisers, but is easy to lift and actually feels "light" when you ride it, if that makes any sense. One thing that surprised me is how narrow the tires are. That's not a problem for me because I ride primarily on paved roads and gravel bike paths, but I don't think this bike could handle much rougher terrain than that. It has a wide and comfy cruiser seat that makes long bike rides a breeze. The brakes are great and the 7 speed shifter works smoothly and the gears are just right. Good bike but not what you expect from Nirve, March 11, 2009 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Nirve Starliner Women's Hybrid Cruiser Bike (Sports) It's a good bike. It takes me everywhere and it is what a bike should be.
It is, however, not the same as the other Nirve bikes. it is a lot lighter or flimsier depending on your point of view. My friend's Nirve bike bought directly from Nirve is a lot more "heavyset" and the steel joints were made a lot "neater".
